Engomi is a village in the east of Cyprus, in the Nicosia district. An archaeological site has been discovered on the grounds of Engomi—a major city of the late Bronze Age and early Iron Age, identified as Alashiya and mentioned repeatedly in Hittite, Egyptian and cuneiform sources.
