Historical sources indicate that in the 15th century, on the floor where the apartment is located, there was a theater visited by historically important figures such as Machiavelli, Count Bardi, and Galileo Galilei, whose father Vincenzo frequently performed here with other musicians. Together they created new musical principles that were reflected in the 33rd canto of Dante Alighieri's Inferno and which are now known as the principles of Lyric opera. The apartment still retains original stage mechanisms located on the ceiling that were used at that time for opera productions.
